Osorb® Rain Gardens

Osorb soils improve rain garden systems. The Osorb's absorption capacity for pollutants, including difficult-to-capture nutrients and herbicides, protects groundwater from runoff contamination.
    
Osorb soils can remove a wide variety of pollutants from runoff in order to protect waterways and groundwater, including:

      •  Nutrients (e.g. phosphates and nitrates)
      •  Herbicides (e.g. Atrazine)
      •  Pesticides
      •  Pharmaceuticals
      •  Oils, greases, and household chemicals
      •  Chlorinated solvents (TCE, PCE, DCE, VC)       •  Harsh fertilizers
      •  Other volatile organic compounds (i.e. VOCs)
Osorb is active in soils with pH<10 and does not interfere with natural or engineered plant growth and is a perfect addition for your next green infrastructure project. Organic matter is not absorbed, allowing for natural plant nutrients to remain in the soil. Osorb has actually been shown to improve and encourage plant growth (below, right).
